Think ALUMINUM Technologies, Inc
AluCOAT Trough & Launder Coating
AluCOAT
AluCoat is a blend of inorganic mineral materials that is used to pack cracks and protect refractory surfaces from corrosion by molten aluminum and especially high magnesium alloys.
With a specific gravity higher than that of the molten aluminum, the product will be retained in place when packed into cracks and applied on the refractory surface prior to casting. The density and packing characteristics mirror that of dry ground bone ash but at a more economical cost. Also there is no leaching of phosphorus in the casting of 5000 series alloys. The product may be mixed with water and sprayed on surfaces. Proper drying must be applied to prevent a molten metal explosion! It is recommended that the product only be used in the dry method for the safest cast house process.
